The
Senator from Illinois is most certainly basing his campaign on reforming
the way the Government works though he is a strong proponent for expansive
government. His agenda includes funding research for sources of alternative
fuels, universal healthcare and raising taxes for the upper-class mainly
through capital gains tax while ensuring that the middle class in America
are afforded opportunities for growth through various means and incentives.
Ideas have a tendency to sound a bit socialistic at times, but overall
has a heart for equality of all Americans. Also very liberal which invokes
a sense of unease to people with more conservative ideals in areas such
as civil union and the abortion issues. |

The
Arizona Senator is in favor of lifting the ban on off-shore drilling
for states which is admittedly not going to do much for relief immediately,
but will certainly provide effective economic options in the long run.
He is an advocate for keeping healthcare privatized, but eludes to having
a plan to reform it so that it is more accessible to American workers.
Pretty standard GOP minded, he has become a supporter for the permanence
of President Bush's tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 which is viewed with favorablility
by those with large gross and net worths. His biggest differentiation
from his Democratic opponent is most clearly his support for staying
the course in Iraq as opposed to bringing the troops home as soon as
possible. He is also very liberal which has caused him trouble in his
own GOP party and is known to flip-flop quite a bit.
