Brewing Up Local Flavor

The Lord has created man with an incredible talent for architecture, art and many other skills. Thus, traveling the states and the world is so appealing because we get a chance to experience a variation of buildings, artwork, foods and hospitality amongst the differing cultures.

Unfortunately, many Americans do not travel almost at all. There are many factors that make this a sad reality, but finances certainly take the number one position (only 29% of people earning $20,000 yearly or less travel versus a whopping 90% travel rate for people earning $75,000 or more per year). Certain trips can carry a pretty hefty price tag, but that certainly doesn’t mean you can’t “see the sights” if you’re in the lighter tax bracket.

Some of the greatest adventures and coolest spots can be found right in your own back yard. Checking with your local visitor’s bureau can provide you with exciting ideas that perhaps you’ve previously never considered. Even if some of the destinations cost a bit, you’ve already saved on gas and travel time; therefore, it’s worth the indulgence.

If you’re thinking about evening or weekend outings, consider your neighborhood Christian Coffee house. These places are typically ministries that seek to provide a family-friendly environment while sharing good food, live performances by independent Christian and/or jazz artists and sometimes they even showcase comedic talent!
